PhD student

I am a PhD student in the Gestal lab, and I am interested in bacterial pathogenesis. I earned my Bachelor's degree in biology, with a concentration in microbiology and a minor in chemistry from Southeastern Louisiana University. I was born and raised in Louisiana! I have two cats, a bearded dragon, and I love thrift/antique shopping in my free time!

Jose Pedreira Lopez

I am a PhD student in the Gestal lab. After visiting the Gestal Lab during my Undergraduate studies thanks to the Undergraduate Summer Fellowship Foundation Barrie de la Maza and LSU Health Science Center at Shreveport, I came back to do my PhD. I earned and PharmaD at University of Santiago de Compostela and my goal is to create new therapies to halt infectious diseases
