Last Friday, LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport hosted Graduate Research Day, an exciting event where graduate students and postdoctoral fellows had the opportunity to present their work, exchange ideas, and foster new collaborations across labs and departments.
This year’s event featured 75 posters and 6 oral presentations, showcasing the impressive breadth and quality of research being conducted by our trainees. The atmosphere was vibrant, the turnout outstanding, and the organization truly impeccable.
What makes this event especially meaningful is that it is organized by the students themselves. I am particularly proud that my student, Jose Pedreira-Lopez, played a pivotal role in coordinating such a successful meeting. Seeing trainees take leadership in building scientific community is incredibly rewarding.
Events like these remind us that the future of science is in very good hands. I look forward to seeing where these outstanding trainees go next in their careers.
