Multi-COBRE Colloquium = AMAZING!!!

The first LSU Multi-COBRE Colloquium was a tremendous success. Over two energizing days, we had the opportunity to connect with our colleagues across Louisiana, learn about their innovative research programs, and explore the impressive core facilities and shared resources available within our network.

Beyond the science, this meeting strengthened something equally important, community. New collaborations were seeded, conversations sparked fresh ideas, and networking flourished among faculty, trainees, and research leaders. It was especially exciting to see new faculty members engage, share their work, and begin building partnerships that will elevate their programs.

We were reminded how fortunate we are to have such an extraordinary ecosystem of mentors, collaborators, and institutional support close by. The depth of expertise and infrastructure within the LSU system is truly remarkable.

This colloquium marks the beginning of what we hope will be many more gatherings, spaces where multidisciplinary science can thrive, collaborations can grow, and research can be pushed to the next level!!!

What an incredible experience at the Spring Meeting of the Texas Branch of the American Society for Microbiology. I had the honor of being invited as the Eugene and Milicent Goldschmidt Lecturer, and it was truly a memorable and inspiring few days. Held at Camp Mt.
