We had the pleasure of hosting Karen Scanlon from University of Maryland, who delivered an inspiring talk titled “The TRP Switch: Nutritional Control of Early Life Host–Microbe Interactions.” Her presentation provided fascinating insights into the contriution of host metabolism to infection, sparking thoughtful discussions across multiple areas of research. Beyond the science, we also had valuable conversations on teaching strategies and innovative approaches to engaging students in microbiology and immunology.
